These are general questions relating to the content and expected result of this zine.
What is a zine?
A zine is a collection of works that is published in a book or magazine format. This particular zine is a collaborative fan-zine relating to the novels of MXTX.
What is the theme of this zine?
This is a horror-themed zine. Related genres and subgenres such as supernatural horror, slasher, gothic horror, psychological horror, and more, are allowed. NSFW and content such as violence and gore should be expected.
What is this zine rated?
Night Haunt is rated 18+. Please do not apply or request to purchase if you are under 18. If you do apply or request purchase and it is discovered that you are under 18, you will be removed immediately.
What sort of content is allowed in this zine?
All content relating to horror will be accepted, whether it be a further exploration of horror elements already presented in the work, or a modern alternate universe summer camp slasher. Works that are not scary but contain traditionally related motifs, such as witch!Lan Wangji and moth!Wei Wuxian, are also allowed.

All final works will require a list of content warnings, and an index of content warnings will be included with the zine.

Content will be curated and pitches will be judged based on mod discretion.
What is the policy on sexual content?
Because this is a NSFW zine, sexual content will be allowed. However, sexual content of a dark nature may or may not be accepted. Dark sexual content directly related to horror (monsterfucking, body horror) is allowed, but dark sexual content that is unrelated (non-con, underage) will not. If you are not sure if your idea fits under this criteria, please contact the mods.
Is this a physical zine?
Yes, Night Haunt will be available for p4p purchase as a physical zine. After the zine is sent, Night Haunt will be available in a downloadable pdf format for free. The digital copy will be in a low resolution that is meant for screen viewing only. This is done to prevent unrelated persons from printing out and selling copies of our contributor's work.
Is this zine for profit?
No. In accordance to MXTX's wishes, physical copies of this zine would be pay for product only. However, donations will be accepted and put towards the cost of purchasing or discounting physical copies and shipping to the contributors.
Application + Participation Questions
These are for questions relating to the application and selection process, and what is expected of contributors.
What are the requirements for application?
You must be 18+. Each specific position type will have its own requirement which is found on the "apply" page.
Can I apply for multiple positions in the zine?
Yes, you may submit applications for multiple positions. Your applications will be judged separate of each other.
Will mods be contributors in the zine?
Mods will be allowed to participate in the zine as contributors if they wish, but must submit an application. Mod slots and guest slots will not take up a contributor slot.
Will contributors be compensated for their work?
Each contributor to the zine filled out which sort of compensation they wish to receive out of the full bundle + shipping costs. We have calculated the cost to fulfill this at a hundred sales and added it onto the cost of zine purchases, as we consider it part of production costs.
How will zine contributors be expected to communicate?
Official communication will be sent by the mods via email, and once accepted, contributors are expected to join a discord server.
How many applications were received for Night Haunt?
We received over 150 applications for Night Haunt!
How come my friend received an application result and I have not gotten a notice?
Some of the emails have gone out ahead of schedule, and we are still sorting through the remainder of the applications. Don't worry - you'll receive an email with your application status by February 5th. If you did not, there may have been an issue with us sending an email, so please feel free to contact us to let us know, either on the contact page or through twitter, tumblr, or discord.
